A good journey begins before departure. Mechanical readiness, suitable equipment and a realistic plan manage a large share of the risk.
A travel plan should account for rider and motorcycle capacity as much as the destination.
01
Mechanical preparation
Tyres, brakes, chain, fluids, battery and lighting should be checked before departure day, leaving time to resolve any issue.
02
Essential equipment and loading
Load symmetrically, close to the motorcycle’s centre and fully secured. Carry basic tools, a puncture kit, water and layers for changing weather.
Documents and emergency numbers
Power bank and offline route
Planned rest and fuel stops
03
A realistic pace
Choose conservative daily distances and leave time for weather, fatigue or traffic. Arriving later is better than riding with reduced focus.
